Be thoughtful. Be mindful. Be kind.

OUR OBLIGATION AS A BUSINESS OWNER:

We are in the business of making beer. Good beer.  Well great beer!  But the bigger picture is much bigger.  We carry a responsibility to improve our world and leave it better than we found it.  Part of our obligation is to see that our employees are well cared for.  We employ a practice of taking mental health days and we believe in an open-door policy so no one is left to stress, worry, or feel they cannot speak to issues or sensitivities. We also believe in livable wages and strive to provide the best pay for our staff.

Our environment is our product.  What happens in this world affects all of us and more specifically what happens in the environment directly affects our products.  Hops and grain are severely affected by temperature changes, droughts, and climatic events such as wildfires.   We are currently experiencing these changes with impacts on hops and the specs to which each type of hop can be used in the process. We believe in doing what we can to mitigate these effects and expand our impact as we grow.  Our small steps today will lead to big impacts later.

Our commitments include and are not limited to:

  • Reducing our waste sent to landfills with a near goal of zero waste.

  • Using BPI Certified compostable products and commercially composting waste to be reused.

  • Capturing as much CO2 as possible back into our products.

  • Long Term Goal of capturing CO2 to be stored and used in our products.

  • Choosing products ranked high on the NRDC (Natural Resource Defense Council) Scorecards and other resources to be sure we are being consistent with our intentions.

  • 5-year goal for solar power implementation

  • 2-year goal to implement stormwater reuse practices.

  • Promoting and partnering with organizations and businesses that promote and utilize likeminded practices.

At Ecology every person entitled to operate and co-exist in an environment where each individual is treated with dignity, kindness, and respect.
